WEST Sussex rider Vanessa Lawes has earned a coveted ticket to the Horse of the Year Show.
She gained her place at the third 2008 South Essex Insurance Brokers Search For A Star qualifier at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Bucks, which attracted an unprecedented number of competitors.

Vanessa, from Northchapel, won the Riding Club Show Horse Class with her six-year-old grey gelding, Roulade.

She bought him two years ago from Roger Dungworth, the joint master of the Cottesmore and the Scarteen Fox Hounds in Ireland, who now lives in Lincon.
