The eight-month-old bitch was taken from Lisa Ingall's from garden on Thursday (July 24).

Mrs Ingall's neighbour saw a couple taking the dog from Tristram Close, Sompting, but they claimed it belonged to them.

Mrs Ingall's husband, James, believes he spotted the couple sitting in a van in Worthing town centre two days after their dog was taken.

The woman, who is white with long blonde hair, had another Jack Russell sitting on her lap wearing the Ingall's dog's collar.

The van also had dog crates in the back but it appears the number plates were false.

Mrs Ingall has been advised by animal charity WADARS not to give out the name of the puppy.

"It's upset the whole family," said Mrs Ingall. "My youngest two are devastated. I just can't believe some people."
Unfortunately the Ingall's dog has not been microchipped.

"I'd actually made an appointment for this week to get her chipped and vet checked," said Mrs Ingall.

The puppy has tan ears and tan spots on its stomach and is smooth haired apart from a rough patch along its spine.

"Her most distinctive feature is her eyes which have pink around them. They're almost albino."
