£6,000 tribute in memory of cancer victim

A TRIBUTE of more than £6,000 has been made to a hospice in memory of a young patient whose life was cut short by cancer.
Friends Felicity Newman and Suzanne Fox handed over a cheque for £6,334 to St Peter and St James Hospice after a skydive in memory of their colleague and best friend Kate Martin.
Kate, of Eastern Road, Lindfield, was just 24 when she died at the hospice in North Chailey in March, three weeks before her wedding to fiancé Joel French.
The couple brought their wedding forward after Kate was admitted to the hospice, but she never made the date, or Felicity's wedding when she would have been a bridesmaid.
Felicity and Suzanne's skydive from 12,000ft included a 6,000ft freefall and the friends, who work at the Oathall Veterinary Group in Haywards Heath, brought their dogs over to St Peter and St James to present their cheque to head of fundraising Gill Cronin.
To work or volunteer at St Peter and St James contact the personnel department on 01444 471598.
