John Bowman
It's practically full circle for John, who has worked in newspapers for more than 20 years, as he was a trainee reporter on the Gazette's sister paper the Midhurst and Petworth Observer.
Since then, he has been employed by The News in Portsmouth - another sister publication - as a reporter and sub-editor, and has subbed on the Jersey Evening Post and the Southern Daily Echo in Southampton, where he became assistant chief sub-editor.
He has also subbed on the Petersfield Post (once again, a sister title to the WSG) as well as on national dailies.
John (44) said: "It's great to be back in West Sussex and working on a newspaper that is held so closely to its readers' hearts.
"I thoroughly enjoyed myself covering the Midhurst and Petworth area all those years ago, where I developed a deep affinity for this beautiful county, and I'm relishing being able to play my part in helping the Gazette to build on its reputation as a publication that means so much to so many."
